Keloke’s Art
During my senior internship, I had the unique opportunity to create a mural at Covenant Woods, a nursing home dedicated to providing a supportive and enriching environment for its residents. This project was not only a significant part of my academic journey but also an endeavor that allowed me to engage with the community in a meaningful way.
The mural I designed and painted was inspired by themes of nature and community, aiming to bring warmth and joy to the living spaces of the residents. My goal was to create an inviting atmosphere that would resonate with the individuals living there, fostering a sense of connection and nostalgia. The vibrant colors and imagery were carefully chosen to evoke positive emotions and stimulate conversation among residents.
Upon completion of the mural, I had the pleasure of witnessing firsthand how much it resonated with the residents. Their enthusiastic responses and heartfelt appreciation were incredibly rewarding. Many expressed their delight in seeing such lively artwork in their environment, which sparked joy and brought smiles to their faces. It was gratifying to know that my work contributed positively to their daily lives.
Overall, this mural project at Covenant Woods not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the nursing home but also created an emotional impact on its residents, who truly loved it. This experience solidified my passion for art as a means of communication and connection within communities.
